Rob Swackhamer re-visited the very first photoshoot he did with Allybelle as Azura from Fire Emblem: Fates. And he discusses what he had learned in that time since then.
The Make Them Awesome team recently did a new photo set with some characters from the Fate/Grand Order universe. There was a lot of things we had planned out for this set… but we also had to deal with a bunch of unforeseen circumstances as well.
Rob likes to do quite a bit of photo experimenting at home to see if some ideas come about. But it's not quite the same as doing so in a studio with someone else in front of the camera. Tacocat, Luis, and Rob went to the studio try out some ideas... and shoot a new version of Chibi Moon!
Even with all the obstacles we had... we were able to do a lot in our first year of this crazy idea of ours. Rob looks back at what we had to work through and what we were able to accomplish.
When you don't want to do what everyone else is doing you're going to need to work hard to get somewhere. But you could potentially end up gaining so much more than you initially realized. Rob shares out what the team has been able to do since they are not involved with convention cosplay photography... and how much that has opened up for everyone to be artists, gain knowledge, and just plain have fun.
So what happens when we get a bunch of random costumes and wigs from Miccostumes? And only one person in the group knows what they are? We go book some studio time to photograph and video how everything came out!
Our first project of 2019 and we tackled a number of new things. First: some brand new costumes of Bowsette and Boosette based off of Hannah Alexander’s work, and Chompette from ANN4RT. Second: we tried some light painting with the PixelStick!
It's a lot of fun to put together a project based on an original character and see where it takes you. Even if the weather doesn't want to play nice.
Of course we had to go Plus Extra for Halloween. This time with some new takes on Honoka, Kotori, and Eli from Love Live!
Sometimes when an opportunity comes your way you have to go Plus Ultra. Rob talks about all the hard work the MTA team took on to prepare for Classic Game Fest.
As part of our preparations for Classic Game Fest we shot some brand new material. This time around with Mermaid Child as Star Gaurdian Ahri and Tacocat Cosplay as Star Guardian Syndra from League of Legends.
Sometimes you have to detach yourself from the things you love in order to open up a world of possibilities. Rob talks about how not following the expectations of fandom can lead to new opportunities.

So with spring in the air in Texas it was a good time to get outside and do some shooting. We spent our Easter Sunday at the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Antonio shooting Nozomi, Honoka, and Eli from Love Live!
